Originally, Atzompa was known for its green glaze pottery or loza verde. However, Dolores has also made the village famous for its multicolored clay pottery. This face bowl offered here is a prime example. Dolores Porras is prominently featured in the book, Oaxacan Ceramics: Traditional Folk Art by Oaxacan Women (Chronicle 2003) and has won numerous awards for her work.
