Two Bottles of Artisanal Mezcal by Ron Cooper of Del Maguey Producers in Handwoven
Palm Fiber Estuches
Ron Cooper of Del Maguey mezcal producers has generously donated several bottles of his
handmade, organic mezcal for a tasting at the October 9th FOFA fundraiser. Two of these
bottles have also been made available for the silent auction.
Ron works with Zapotec mezcal producers to produce 16th century production methods and
quality. A limited number of bottles become available each year. Each bottle is enclosed in
a handwoven palm fiber container. Using this estuche gives another utilitarian purpose for
an ancient art form adding in its preservation and creating a source of income for Zapotec
women weavers.
