Kickoff of Call for Works by Young Artists
in Oaxaca's Central Valleys

 
Our inaugural project, a juried exhibition entitled "Oaxacan Popular Arts in the New Millennium," is officially underway with posters in pueblo community centers and schools, flyers, and radio spots throughout the Central Valleys of Oaxaca. Young artisans ages 15-25 working in ceramics, woodcarving, weaving and other classes of folk art are invited to submit their work between May 15 – June 25, 2008 to a juried exhibition at the State Museum of Popular Arts (Museo Estatal de Arte Popular Oaxaca, MEAPO), located about 20 minutes south of Oaxaca City in the pueblo of San Bartolo Coyotepec.
