A museum-quality 76-page color catalogue was created to celebrate the 2008 young artists’ competition and the exhibition that grew out of it. It gives enduring recognition to these artists, along with two master artists in each of the five classes of folk art. After contextualizing individual works within a scholarly essay written by art historian members of FOFA, each participating artist is celebrated by featuring his/her exhibition piece and a personal statement about the work. The volume serves as a special guide for collectors, offering background profiles on each artist and user-friendly directions for finding the artists at work in their home studios.
The exhibition catalogue can be purchased for $20 (including handling and postage) via PayPal by using the website link, www.fofa.us/catalogue.html or sending a $20 check to: Friends of Oaxacan Folk Art, 275 Central Park West, 1C, New York, NY 10024. Be sure to indicate “catalogue” on the check.
