You are invited to a unique craft fair and opening ceremony celebrating Friends of Oaxacan Folk Art and Museo Estatal de Arte Popular Oaxaca’s latest collaborative Exhibit,

“Shaping the Future: Young Folk Artists of Oaxaca 2011”

From 1:00-5:00 pm, join us for a craft fair of works by winning artists, followed at 5:00 PM by the inauguration of the exhibition of pieces by winners and recipients of honorable mention in FOFA/MEAPO’s August, 2011 contest.

This event is free and open to the public and is additionally sponsored by The Mexican Cultural Institute and The Mexican Consulate of New York.

The PBS Peabody award winning documentary series "Craft in America" filmed portions of two excellent upcoming programs in Oaxaca, one -- "Neighbors" -- partially in collaboration with FOFA. These programs explore connections through craft between Mexico and the United States.
