Other Types of Sponsorship (2010- 2011)

FOFA’s members are always learning of additional ways to enhance the prospects of and give recognition to Oaxaca’s natural treasure: its artesanos.

We are always open to new ideas. Please share yours with us!

Lake Chapala Folk Art Market (2010)

In 2010, we contributed to the transportation of the Oaxacan contingent at the annual Lake Chapala Folk Art Fair in mid-November HYPERLINK TO LAKE CHAPALA http://www.mexicoartshow.com/. Each year, Linda Hanna, a resident of Oaxaca, friend of FOFA, and knowledgeable folk art enthusiast, selects a group of representatives of Oaxaca’s spectrum of crafts. She generously helps them prepare themselves for this fair and arranges their transportation. This is a great opportunity for them to gain exposure to new markets, as well as for their work to be appreciated by the many people who attend this event.

International Day of Women (2011)

In 2011, La Licenciada Gloria Guadalupe Martínez López, the new Director of the Instituto Oaxaqueño de las Artesanías, honored Adelaida Morales, a basket weaver.  on International Women’s Day. FOFA was among the organizations sponsoring this important occasion. Linda Hanna represented FOFA at this event, speaking about our past, present and future projects.
