Museum of Contemporary Art (MACO) (Macedonio Alcalá 202)
A beautiful building located in the center of town, with temporary and permanent exhibitions

Instituto de Artes Gráficas de Oaxaca (IAGO) (Macedonio Alcalá 507)

A gallery/museum dedicated to graffic arts and printmaking located across from Santo Domingo Church. Collections change often, and in the back there is a small store that sells beautiful paper goods (kites, jewelry, books, wrapping and writing paper) made in nearby San Agustin Etla where they work with local artists against the de-forestation of Oaxaca. A great place to buy gifts.

Galería Quetzalli (Constitución 104, between Reforma and 5 de Mayo)
To the right side of Santo Domingo Church. A gallery specializing in photography, painting and sculpture. Lots of work from the famous local artist, Francisco Toledo can be viewed and purchased here as well as that of other international artists

Arte de Oaxaca (Murgía 105)
Display of many excellent contemporary Oaxacan artists; originally the gallery of the Rodolfo Morales Foundation

Outside of Oaxaca

Centro de las Artes de San Agustín (CASA)
Located approx. 40 minutes from Oaxaca, this building was the home to an old string factory existing before the revolution. It has been restored to its original state and is now an art school for teachers and master artists with rotating exhibits.
