NYC Launch Fundraising Event a Terrific Success

Our NYC launch event was a terrific success thanks to the tireless effort and generous contributions of many, many people. We aimed to have 150 people, and had 220 instead! A great time was had by all at this lively celebration. A photo gallery captures the evening's vitality.

Everyone was there to support the extraordinary and valiant artisans of Oaxaca in one way or another. Donating art work and other fantastic Oaxacan treats for our silent auction, bidding vigorously, setting up, bringing friends, checking them in, creating inviting promotional materials - to name a few. Most remarkably, special treasures were donated by Oaxacan artisans who, moved by FOFA's effort to help, gave pieces of folk art to raise funds for their less fortunate friends.

Creative and delectable botanas were catered by Chef Aaron Sanchez of the TV Food Network, and superb cocktails were prepared by Marissa Sanchez of Paladar restaurant with the spirits donated by a generous group of vendors. Our venue, "205," in the heart of the vibrant Lower East Side (donated by David Schlachet and Guy Jacobsen) was the perfect place to celebrate the art and artisans of Oaxaca.

WE THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS
AND THE SPIRIT IN WHICH YOU GAVE THEM!
