Virtual Exhibit:“My Story in My Hands”
Welcome to FOFA's first-ever online exhibition showcasing the 70 winners of FOFA’s 7th young folk artists competition (or concurso), titled “Mi historia en mis manos” (“My Story in My Hands”).
Below, step into the virtual gallery and you’ll find an awe-inspiring display featuring a cross-section of Oaxaca’s folk arts – from woven textiles and ceramics to carved and painted wood, jewelry, dried flower art, papier mâché and more. Using your computer’s mouse, you’ll be able to navigate throughout the virtual gallery and click on individual pieces to find out the artist’s name, the name of the work, and links to their social media pages. The majority of the pieces on display are available for sale, and there will be information about how to contact the artists directly for more information.
Scroll down for a step-by-step guide to navigating the virtual tour.

Make sure your browser window is maximized for the best viewing experience
Moving Around the Gallery:
To look around: Click anywhere in the gallery space and hold down your mouse button, then slowly drag left, right, up, or down to change your view
To move forward/backward: Use the arrow buttons that appear on your screen, OR scroll your mouse wheel up (to move forward) or down (to move back)
To turn left or right: Drag your mouse left or right while holding down the mouse button
If you get lost: Look for the series of slides (the menu) at the bottom of your screen - click on any section to jump directly there
Viewing Individual Artworks:
IMPORTANT: You can only click on artworks when you see a small camera icon appear on the piece (if you don't see the camera icon, move closer to the artwork or try viewing it from a slightly different angle by moving your mouse left or right until the camera icon appears)
To see artwork details: Once the camera icon is visible, click directly on it
What you'll see: A pop-up window will show the artist's name, artwork title, dimensions, price, and contact information
To contact an artist: Look for the artist’s social media links or contact details in the artwork information (note: most artists use WhatsApp, a free messaging app; download it on your phone to message them directly)
Helpful Tips:
Move slowly - the gallery responds better to gentle mouse movements
If the gallery seems stuck, try refreshing your browser page
Use the menu at the bottom to jump between different sections of the exhibition
Remember, you can't click an artwork if there is no camera icon; keep moving until you find the right viewing angle
